Let me be honest - everything in New Orleans is fluid. Life feels so fragile as everything around us is under risk of either floods, hurricanes, termites, crazy gun guys or God knows what. So locals found the way to deal with that unbearable shortness of life. Everyone fills their existence with so much jazz as possible. Local cyclists equipped their bicycles with loudspeakers so that they can listen to their music anywhere they go. Pedestrians and drivers love the jazz of portable loudspeakers too. Ferries and trains blow their horns all day all night.  Air Conditioners mounted around NOLA and our house are jazzing all the time. As the below-sea-level Mississippi delta forms a sort of concert shell all this jazz mixes up and echoes back at everyone. As an Alien Migrant I crave for more information about the land I have “invaded”. One day I picked up a local newspaper to learn what is happening in around me. Apparently, most of the crimes are aimed at Transgender black women in age group of 15-34 with odds of 1 in 2600 which is roughly 0.03% as they claim in Hullabaloo in the article here . I went to USA Stats Office to check. First of all, these are roughly the odds of any American to die from a gunshot. Annually 19 thousands Americans are killed in gun-related events. Divide 19000 by 324 millions and you will get ~  0.01% but these numbers are different depending where you look - you will get ~ 0.0045% if to infer from Visualizing gun deaths on this page . Every death is a drama though!!! Last week, for example, we had two armed robberies  few steps away from our place . Fingers crossed I will survive American Safari.

On March/06/2017 we have arrived  to USA = "United System of Arithmeticalizations" Aha, USA is over-filled with numbers. The first thing I had to do as a temporary work migrant is to obtain a number - social security number. Somewhere between my first and second trip to the Social Security Number Office I learnt that in order to obtain SS number I need to first obtain and activate EAD number (Employment Authorization Document). The $410 pleasure of obtaining EAD number has to be initialized by filling i-95 and i-765 form that will grant you Alien Migrant Number (not kidding!).  If I am lucky the bureaucracy is gonna take only ~ 30% off my 365 days in USA on my J-2 visa.
