Around 300 km on the left side

Driving on the left side for Polish guy like me is like learning a foreign language (English for instance). I understand the grammar, I understand the logic but my old habits encoded in me are stronger!!! i still try shifting the gears with right hand and i still express myself in English through Polish metaphors :)). It is quite dangerous way of life but very exciting.

New Wales in the title of my blog applies of course to New South Wales. I came to Sydney on 25th of October as an "attachment" to my girl's postgraduate research visa. I enjoyed her company for only short time - Christina flew away for fieldworks to Perth (it is more or less like going from Lisbon in Portugal to Tallinn in Estonia). I am allowed to work only part-time here but God helped me again. At the time my girl would be away i got a great opportunity to work as a volunteer on the Rosnay organic farm (http://www.rosnay.com/) = wonderful time, I escaped from loneliness in a big city and in addition i brought also some $$$ since there was a lot of work with bottling the olives :)) Some dollars only for I got no TFN yet - without Tax File Number i get 55% of what normal people at my position get.

Bottling olives is very enriching - In shade, by pot with boiling hot brine mixture I met a black man from Vanuatu and white woman from ......hmmm i think she was from Port MacQuarie (Am i right Kate?). Sael experienced a lot of adventures before, after and at the time his small country gained independence from joint french-english regime and Kate took a year-off in English teaching and joined local bible community in Canowindra. A lot of talk and a lot of music :)) It was a great time! I wont forget You guys.

Kate hates driving and that is why she let me do it today. Around 300 km, on the left side, with switching windscreen wipers instead of side-lights I brought four Australian girls alive to Sydney! WOW! I think I may be proud of myself :)

  1. Port Macquarie (after the governor who names everything after himself!) - and yes you are right - it was very enriching! My best job this year...
